The Lady Vols earned two silver medals and a bronze on March 20 during the third day of the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, achieving four top five finishes and breaking several school records.
These results highlight a strong showing for Tennessee, as athletes set new personal and program bests while competing against top national teams. The performances put Tennessee in fourth place overall with a score of 240.5, just behind Stanford heading into the final day of competition.
Desharne Bent-Ashmeil achieved a personal best in the 3-meter diving event, scoring 382.25 to finish as national runner-up. This broke the previous school record set by Tori Lamp in 2012 and marked the highest finish for a Lady Vol in this event since Tracy Bonner won it in 1995. In relay events, Tennessee’s team of Jillian Crooks, McKenzie Siroky, Muzuki Hirai, and Camille Spink finished second in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:23.79, setting new school and Southeastern Conference records after previously placing second at last year’s championships.
Camille Spink secured bronze in the 50 Free, improving on her fourth-place result from last year and delivering Tennessee’s best finish in that event since Erika Brown took second place in 2019. Ella Jansen placed fourth in the 500 Free with a time of 4:32.82, surpassing her own previous school record.
The team has accumulated numerous All-America honors across various events throughout the week. As competition continues into its final day—with races including the 100 Free, 200 Fly, 200 Back, and concluding with the 400 Free Relay—Tennessee remains close to moving up further in team standings.
