Census Bureau: 81.1 percent of people in Knoxville were old enough to vote in 2020

Of the 187,487 citizens living in Knoxville in 2020, 152,131 were old enough to vote as of March 26, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 79,560 of those people were female and 72,571 were male.

An agency of the U.S. Federal Statistical System, the Census Bureau is responsible for compiling statistical facts about the American people, places and economy. Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.

Statistical data for 2021 will be released later this year.
