The University of Tennessee baseball team announced on Apr. 30 that it will begin a three-game Southeastern Conference series against the University of Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington starting May 1.

This matchup is significant as both teams are looking to improve their standings in the conference, with Tennessee ranked No. 24 and holding a record of 30-15 overall and 10-11 in SEC play, while Kentucky stands at 27-15 overall and 9-12 in the SEC.

The games will be played at Kentucky Proud Park, with start times set for Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. All games will be broadcast on SEC Network+ and available via audio stream through various platforms including UTSports.com and the Tennessee Athletics App. Probable starting pitchers for Tennessee include Tegan Kuhns, Evan Blanco, and Landon Mack across the three days.

Tennessee leads the all-time series against Kentucky, having won six of their last ten meetings. The two programs have played each other since 1909, making this one of college baseball’s longest-running rivalries. Last season’s meeting ended with a loss for Tennessee at home.

Several players have received weekly honors ahead of this series. Tegan Kuhns was named SEC pitcher of the week after an eight-inning shutout performance against Alabama, while Trent Grindlinger earned co-freshman of the week honors from the league as well as national recognition from Perfect Game. Blaine Brown also contributed significantly during last week’s games by leading or tying for team highs in several offensive categories.

Following this weekend’s road trip to Kentucky, Tennessee is scheduled to return home next week to face Presbyterian before hosting Texas.
