Tennessee track and field athletes achieved significant milestones on April 17 as they opened a weekend of competition at the Wake Forest Invitational and Bryan Clay Invitational.
The performances are notable for setting new standards in the school’s history. These achievements highlight the progress of Tennessee’s distance running program this season.
At the Wake Forest Invitational, sophomore Tula Fawbush recorded a personal best in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:10.18. This result placed her seventh at the meet, moved her to No. 2 all-time in Lady Vol history, and ranked her No. 22 on the NCAA Division I national list for 2026.
Meanwhile, Zouhair Redouane ran his first collegiate 10,000 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Friday morning. He finished with a time of 28:27.95, which was more than a minute faster than his previous best. The performance ranked him third in Tennessee program history and placed him twelfth on the NCAA East Region qualifying list for this year.
Additionally, junior Carter Knox competed in the men’s 800-meter invite at Wake Forest and finished fourth in his heat with a time of 1:49.44.
Looking ahead, Tennessee will continue its weekend by competing across three different meets: returning to both the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California; as well as participating in the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational held in Gainesville, Florida.
