The No. 18/19 Tennessee women’s golf team will close its regular season at the Huntington Bank Collegiate in Dallas, starting April 4. The two-day tournament features 36 holes on Monday and a final round on Tuesday at Trinity Forest Golf Course, a par-72 course measuring 6,657 yards that previously hosted the PGA Tour’s Byron Nelson Championship.

This event marks Tennessee’s third appearance at the Huntington Bank Collegiate, with previous finishes including runner-up in 2018 and third place in 2017. Assistant coach Anna Newell participated as a player during the team’s first showing in 2017.

The Lady Vols enter the tournament following a fourth-place finish at the Clemson Invitational, where they recorded their seventh top-five result out of eight tournaments this season. The lineup for this week includes Kyra Van Kan, who tied for fifth individually at Clemson after strong rounds to finish four under par; Madison Messimer, who finished one stroke behind Van Kan and has achieved a team-high of fifteen rounds of par or better this season; Sophie Christopher, who recently secured her first collegiate win with a five-under-par performance at the Georgia State Invitational; Kaopan Thapasit, who notched her fifth top-25 finish as a freshman; Manassanan Chotikabhukkana, Tennessee’s all-time leader in career rounds of par or better; and Sofie Engesaeth competing as an individual.

The field consists of teams such as Arizona (ranked No. 25), Oklahoma (24), UCLA (15), UCF (13), Houston (32), SMU (30), Oklahoma State (27), TCU (41) and others according to Clippd rankings.

With SEC Championships approaching, this tournament serves as Tennessee’s final opportunity to prepare against strong competition before postseason play.
