U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett, who represents Tennessee’s 2nd district, recently highlighted his involvement in several community and political events through posts on social media.
On August 18, 2025, Burchett shared his participation in a local milestone: “Honored to join the Tennessee Area Agencies on Aging and Disability for their 50th anniversary celebration. Thank you for half a century of serving seniors, individuals with disabilities, and their families across Tennessee.” This event marked five decades of service by the organization to older adults and people with disabilities across the state.
Later that day, Burchett posted about former President Donald Trump’s foreign policy approach: “Nothing President Trump does is by accident, it’s all a part of his plan. I trust @realDonaldTrump to achieve peace in Ukraine, just like he’s done all across the globe.” The post referenced ongoing international concerns regarding conflict in Ukraine.
On August 19, 2025, Burchett participated in another community-focused event: “Glad to take part in the ribbon cutting celebrating new investments in Head Start and CAC that will provide important resources for families in our community. Grateful for all the work they do to support folks here at home.” The event celebrated increased funding for programs aimed at supporting local families.
Burchett has served as a member of U.S. Congress since 2019 after replacing Jimmy Duncan. Before his congressional tenure, he held seats in both chambers of Tennessee’s state legislature between 1995 and 2010. Born and residing in Knoxville since 1964, Burchett is an alumnus of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
