Later that day, at 5:18 p.m., he reflected on a recent local event by stating, “Enjoyed joining the NAIFA Legislative Luncheon last week to share remarks and visit with folks in Knoxville. Burchett has represented Tennessee’s 2nd District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Jimmy Duncan. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in both chambers of the Tennessee legislature from 1995 through 2010. Born in Knoxville in 1964 and currently residing there, Burchett is an alumnus of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
