South College enrolls 1,944 undergrads

At South College, 53 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 82 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private for-profit institution in Knoxville enrolled 2,722 students in fall 2018, including 1,944 in undergraduate and 778 in graduate programs, data shows. 15.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

85 percent of undergraduates are residents of Tennessee, and 15 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (72 percent) and Black or African American (16 percent).
