Cost of college went down for all students at South College

Tuition and fees fell 7.9 percent for 2018-19 at South College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Tennessee students paid $16,575 to attend the four-year private for-profit institution this year – $1,425 less than the $18,000 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 311 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.5 million and 209 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,722), 915 students used grants or scholarships totaling $8.6 million, and 871 students took out $6.8 million in federal student loans.
