Rhodes College Swim & Dive team participated in their mid-season meet, hosted by Delta State. The meet included athletes from Hendrix, University of the Ozarks, Millsaps College, Delta State University, and Rhodes College. In total, the women's team scored 1,651 points and the men's team scored 1,675 points.
Over the weekend, four school records were broken on the men's side. Freshman Jack Whitten had an impressive weekend, breaking two individual records and one relay record. Whitten broke the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:03.23 and the 100 breaststroke, going 56.43. In addition, Whitten was a part of the men's 400 medley relay who also broke a school record. This relay consisted of junior Arthur Bishop, freshman Jack Whitten, freshman Jonas Hostetler, and senior Evan Ziolkowski. Lastly, sophomore Daniel Snyder broke the school record in the 500 freestyle, going a time of 4:33.04.
On the women's side, sophomore Adeline Carroll won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:07.10. The women's 200 medley relay team of freshmen Gracie Shapard, freshman Paxton Smythe, junior Taylor Albrecht, and sophomore Adeline Carroll also won their event. Finally, freshman Gracie Shapard won the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:04.55.
The Lynx will not compete again until January 7th at Washington University, but they hope to continue their current success throughout the season!
