Tennessee redshirt junior thrower Chandler Hayden set the Arkansas Qualifier meet record in the women's weight throw with a lifetime-best toss of 22.51m (73-10.25) on Friday afternoon at the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Her top throw came in the third round and established a new season-best, PR and the No. 5 mark in the SEC this season. The Pittsfield, Illinois, native now ranks second in Lady Vol history and ninth on the descending TFRRS 2022-2023 NCAA Division I Indoor Qualifying List, putting herself in a solid position to qualify for the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships.

Hayden's series featured throws of 21.11m (60-3.25) and 21.27m (69-9.5) before launching the 20-pound weight 22.51m (73-10.25) in the third round, topping her previous personal best by three feet, eight inches. She dominated the competition in Fayetteville, out-throwing the second-place finisher, Hannah Bradford of Oklahoma State, by 2.89 meters.

Hayden was UT's lone representative at the Arkansas Qualifier, but the weekend continues with the men's DMR foursome of Yaseen Abdalla, Rasheeme Griffith, Joe Hoots and Canaan Anderson running at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday. The event is scheduled for noon ET at Notre Dame's Meyo Field, a 320-meter indoor track facility in South Bend, Indiana.
