City's Office of Community Safety awarded more than $240,000 in grant funding | City of Knoxville
This year, the City's Office of Community Safety awarded more than $240,000 in grant funding to community organizations working to raise awareness about youth violence prevention and provide direct engagement with youth at high risk of involvement in violence. Grantee organizations served ~120 youth during Spring Break, and about 738 total residents participated in programs during Youth Violence Prevention Week. Applications are now being accepted for 2023 programs at KnoxvilleTN.gov/CommunitySafety.
The Office of Community Safety also commissioned an independent gun violence problem analysis and supported the development and launch of a violence interruption street outreach pilot program called Turn Up Knox, members of which are shown here.
