PSA: If you receive a call from someone claiming to be a Knoxville Police Department officer stating that you have a warrant on file and need to pay a fine to make that warrant go away, it is a scam. We have been made aware of a recent local surge in these scam calls.
REMINDER: A law enforcement agency or representative will never call to request money, even if there is a warrant for your arrest. Do not fall for that scam or comply with the request for money. If you receive one of these calls, hang up and report it at 865-215-7268.
