City of Knoxville Police Department Search Warrant at an apartment on Dandridge Avenue | City of Knoxville Police Department
On Thursday afternoon, members of the Knoxville Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit and Community Engagement Response Team executed a search warrant at an apartment on Dandridge Avenue. The search warrant was conducted as a result of an ongoing firearms investigation.
During the search warrant, a 17-year-old male was arrested for multiple juvenile offenses and three firearms were recovered. One recovered firearm had an automatic switch, while another one was reported as stolen in February from a car that was stolen on Woodview Drive. Officers also recovered a surplus military flak vest from the residence.
Reports of firearms being stolen from cars are on the rise again in 2023. As a reminder, the Knoxville Police Department always encourages gun owners to remove firearms from their vehicle every time it is left unoccupied, or to safely secure those firearms in a lockbox. Vehicles should also never be left unlocked or unsecured while left unoccupied for any amount of time.
