WASHINGTON, D.C. – On the latest episode of Tennessee Talks, Rep. August Pfluger (TX-11) joined Rep. Tim Burchett (TN-02) to discuss the recent TikTok hearing held by the House Energy & Commerce Committee. They discuss TikTok's censorship, the damaging effects it can have on children's mental health, and how the Chinese app poses a threat to U.S. national security.
"August knows his stuff on this issue and he got to question the CEO of TikTok directly," said Rep. Burchett. "He serves the people of West Texas well and not to mention he was a darn good fighter pilot for a really long time."
Rep. August Pfluger (TX-11) graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy and faithfully served our country as a decorated fighter pilot for twenty years. August later served as an advisor on the National Security Council and still serves as a Colonel in the Air Force Reserves.
August serves on the Energy & Commerce Committee as well as the House Homeland Security Committee. He lives in San Angelo, Texas with his wife and three daughters.
